Robert Allen Casias

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Casias on August 17th, 2024. He was 84 years old. Bob was born in Los Angeles, CA, on October 23rd 1939 to John and Rita Casias. He attended Montebello High School where he developed a love of music, sports, and academics. Upon graduation, he attended Orange Coast College and then transferred to Arizona State University where he earned a Bachelor’s in Education. Bob was an avid Sun Devil fan throughout his life and a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He continued with his Education at USC where he obtained his teaching credential while teaching for the Orange Unified School District.

Bob’s creativity, self-efficacy, and willingness to follow his passions led him to lease land and build a retail nursery and landscape business, which thrived for over 15 years. His love of creating beautiful landscapes was reflected not only in his own home but homes throughout the Orange County area. After his retail nursery career, Bob pursued a career in mortgage banking and inevitably opened a mortgage banking company of his own.

Bob is remembered for his generous heart, witty humor, entrepreneurship, and keen interest in reading of all subjects, the way he ferociously attacked his golf swing, his love of fitness and sports, appreciation of music, and, most of all, love of family. A loving husband and devoted father, son, grandfather, uncle, and friend he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Casias, his three children, Michele Casias, Alyson Binder (Marty Binder), and Mark Casias (Luz Casias), and his six grandchildren, Logan and Sienna Binder, Sofia, Isaac, Elia and Max Casias. Bob and Mary Lou were married for 60 years and resided as homeowners in Placentia, CA. He will be forever cherished and remembered in our hearts.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, December 28th, at St. Joseph’s Church, 717 Bradford Ave., Placentia, CA 92870, at 10:30 am. All who wish to honor Bob’s memory are welcome to attend.
