Robert Paul Wrona was born in Waukegan, Illinois, north of Chicago, on January 4, 1944, to Joseph Steven Wrona Sr. and Anna Rose Seveska. He has two siblings, Joseph Steven (Bud) Wrona Jr. and Suzan Marie Rada. Throughout his life, Robert was known for his generosity, integrity, and sense of humor.
He married Barbara Ann Olson on November 26, 1966, and moved from Waukegan, Illinois, to Northern California before setting permanent roots in Fullerton in 1973. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and shared dreams. Bob and Barbara raised their three girls in the same house where Barbara still lives. He was a proud father to Kimberley (Steven), Megan (Tim), and Leslie (Jeffery) and loving grandfather to Tanner, Claire, Dax, Caden, Saffron, and Meadow.
Robert enjoyed a distinguished career as a National Sales and Marketing Manager in the automotive industry, where he brought innovation, leadership, and a deep understanding of the market to every role he held. Over the years, he made significant contributions to well-known companies, including Hollywood Accessories, Armor All Products, Kraco Enterprises, and Sherwin-Williams, helping to shape their brand presence and drive national growth. His strategic vision and dedication earned him the respect of both colleagues and industry peers. After retiring in 2008, Robert continued to share his talents and enthusiasm in new ways, working at the Disneyland Resort, Lowe’s Home Improvement, and with the Angels Baseball organization as an usher: places that reflected his love for community and connection. His professional journey was marked by passion, integrity, and a genuine commitment to excellence.
Robert had a love for sports, which was evident in both his hobbies and his community involvement. After attending Western Kentucky University on a golf scholarship, he continued playing golf weekly, and whenever he had the chance, a tradition he kept up until just a few years ago. A devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs, he proudly celebrated their historic World Series win in 2016. One of his greatest joys came from his 11 seasons as an usher for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, where he formed lasting friendships with his beloved “View Three Crew.” Beyond sports, Robert was deeply committed to his faith and church community. As an active parishioner at St. Juliana Falconieri Church, he sang in the choir and served as a Sunday lector, sharing his voice and presence with fellow worshippers. He also volunteered with the Knights of Columbus, where he enjoyed helping on the BBQ at the annual parish Fall Festival. Robert also enjoyed volunteering at the OC Fair, working alongside his oldest daughter, Kimberley, and son-in-law, Steven, in the livestock department, where they supported 4-H and FFA programs. Known for his generosity and reliability, Robert was always ready to lend a hand—whether it was driving friends to the airport or simply being there when someone needed help. His warmth, dedication, and selflessness left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Robert found joy in tending to his garden, where his love is evident in every corner of his yard. He loved it when his children and grandchildren came to enjoy the yard and a swim in the pool, always announcing what the temperature of the water was. Always on a quest to grow the most beautiful plumeria plant and the perfect rose, he would often bring in flowers from the garden in a vase for Barbara to enjoy, a simple gesture to show his love. January 4th, Bob's Birthday, is the annual day to trim and fertilize your roses. Mark your calendar!
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; his children and grandchildren; his sister and nieces; his brother; and many other beloved family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, close cousins, aunties and uncles, and son-in-law, Steven.
A funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Juliana Falconieri Church—a private inurnment and reception following the mass.
