Ronald G. Cary, 86 years old, passed away after a brave battle with cancer on June 22nd, 2019, surrounded by loved ones in his home. He was born in Goodland, Kansas on August 1st, 1932 to Charles and Pauline Cary. His family relocated to Lodi, California in 1936 due to the dustbowl, and in 1940 they moved to Calistoga where he attended school; not only was he a great student but he also lettered in football, track, basketball and baseball. According to him, however, he had to work twice as hard to keep up with the true athletes. Ron graduated high school in 1950, met and married his first wife Caryl Cary in 1952, and shortly after returning from their honeymoon was called to active duty into the U.S. Navy Seabees. He served in the Philippines during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954 as a construction mechanic where he assisted in the creation of the largest Naval airbase at that time. Upon his return from service, he and Caryl moved to southern California where they had two children, Timothy Curtis and Diana Lee. He built a career in the sale of industrial tools and supplies, and he retired as a top salesman after 45 years. He and Caryl divorced in 1972. He met his second wife Mary Wells in 1983, whom he married in 1992 and acquired two stepsons Bill and Todd Wells and several grandchildren whom he loved as his own. He is survived by his wife Mary, his sister Nancy, his two children and two stepsons, ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Services to be held at McAulay and Wallace in Fullerton on August 1st, 2019, at 11:00 am. Inlieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors or Kaiser Hospice.
