Ryan Appel, a devoted husband, profoundly proud father, and a man who unapologetically "lived life big," passed away on April 17, 2026, at the age of 47. Born on July 16, 1978, he leaves behind a legacy of hard work, adventure, and an endless love for his family.
A naturally driven and hardworking individual, Ryan found his professional calling early in life. At just 19 years old, he began working at Filger Manufacturing in San Clemente. Over the years, he dedicated himself to his craft, eventually becoming a highly skilled Master Machinist. He truly loved his job, taking immense pride in programming and operating CNC machines with precision and expertise.
Outside of the machine shop, Ryan was an adventurous soul who embraced every moment and lived life to the absolute fullest. He found exhilaration in skydiving, riding his motorcycle, snowboarding down the mountain, and paddle boarding on the water. He also found peace in his everyday passions, whether he was practicing archery, taking pride in his yard work, or enjoying a round of golf with his son, Max.
Despite his love for adventure, Ryan’s greatest joy in life was simply being with his family. He was a deeply devoted husband to his wife, Ashley, and his absolute proudest accomplishment was being a father to his three wonderful boys: Maximus, Ramsey, and Vander.
Ryan is survived by a loving family who will forever cherish his memory, including his beloved wife, Ashley Appel; his three sons, Maximus, Ramsey, and Vander; his siblings, and his mother, Toni Davis. He was preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey Appel.
Ryan will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His adventurous spirit, his tireless work ethic, and the immense love he had for Ashley and his boys will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
