

Traverce "Tab" Whitfield Harrison, Jr. peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 30, 2023. He was born on September 12, 1936, in Chicago to Traverce Whitfield Harrison, Sr and Esther Rose Harrison, the third of their four children. He is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife of 65 years, Tsurue "Linda", their four children: Martha, Mark (Briana), Rose and Heidi; eight grandchildren: Ryan (Kat), Christina, Kelli, Brielle (Jesse), William, Brian, Desiree (Jacob) and Jacob, four great grandchildren: Brooklyn, Logan, Emmi, River, his sister Gypsy Elstun, numerous nieces, and nephews.
He graduated from East High School in Denver in 1956. He served in the United States Navy. He was stationed in Japan where he met his beloved wife, Linda. They were married the following year in Japan. They started their family in Colorado and eventually moved to California. He continued his education at Biola University and completed his degree at University of California, Irvine. He worked for Alpha Beta/Ralph's in multiple positions from a cashier to Director of Environmental Safety until his retirement. In addition to being a loving husband, proud father, and grandfather, he enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards, painting, building things, looked forward to family gatherings, and traveling with family to Hawaii and Japan. He also enjoyed singing with his ukulele at the annual Japanese picnics. With his woodcutting and painting skills, he enjoyed making crafts and selling them at Craft Boutiques with his wife for more than 20 years. Walking was a favorite pastime as he chatted with his neighbors. As a born-again Christian, he was very active in his churches as a deacon, an elder, a teacher and pastor of the Celebrate Recovery program. He lived life to the fullest and always enjoyed a good laugh.
A private graveside service will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on February 2, 2024 for immediate family members.
