

Violet Tomp passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on November 1, 2021 in her home in Yorba Linda, California. She is survived by her son, Alfred Tomp, and three grandchildren, William, Lexie and Andrew. She is predeceased by her husband, William “Bill” Tomp, and her daughter, Cecilia Tomp.
Violet, daughter of George and Laurice Kassouf, was born on April 2, 1934 in Zahlé, Lebanon. She moved to the United States in 1963. She met her husband, Bill, while both were actively involved at Our Lady of Mt Lebanon, Maronite Catholic Church in West Los Angeles. The two married on July 25, 1964 and moved from LA to Anaheim. They welcomed two children Alfred in 1965 and Cecilia in 1967. In the summer of 1970 they moved to Yorba Linda.
Family and God were the most important part of Violet’s life. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She treasured her children and grandchildren, especially loving her role as Tata. She loved to cook almost as much as she loved to feed others. She was incredibly kind and welcoming to everyone she met. She was regarded as a second mother to many people. She will be remembered for her infectious smile and her unconditional love towards all. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Violet loved praying the Rosary. Her viewing and rosary will be held at St. John Maron Maronite Catholic Church in the City of Orange on November 19, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Her mass will be held immediately after at 11:30 a.m. A reception will follow the service.
She will be buried at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. on November 20, 2021.
In remembrance of Violet, the family asks that in lieu of flowers any charitable donations be made to St. John Maron Church in Orange.
