Virginia Gizzi, beloved wife, mother of five, grandmother of eleven, and great-grandmother of fourteen, went to be with her Lord & Savior on Friday February 24, 2012 in Grass Valley, California. She had just celebrated her 87th birthday in January. She is survived by her five children. In her final days Virginia was surrounded by love with each of them present. Her passing was with a depth of serenity, which was how she lived her life on this earth. Virginia and her husband Vincent were missionaries to Japan for over 33 years. Virginia was diagnosed with Alzheimers fourteen years ago. Her husband of 62 years was constantly at her side until he passed a year ago at age 94. We are sure they are now rejoicing to be reunited. Her spirit, God-centered life and all she stood for will linger eternally. Her Memorial Service will be held at the First Evangelical Free Church: 2801 Brea Blvd. Fullerton, CA on March 5, 2012 at 10:30 AM. Viewing at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary, 902 N. Harbor Blvd., Fullerton, CA on Sunday March 4th, from 6:00-8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Missionary Athletes International" (MAI) for Vince & Virginia's son, Paul Gizzis - Japan ministry, or to Christar, the mission Dad & Mom served with. These are both organizations for which Vince & Virginia had a passion for many years. Donations for the above should be mailed to: Ruth (Gizzi) Perez (their oldest daughter) 1613 Avolencia Dr. Fullerton, Ca. 92835. Checks should be made out to MAI or to Christar, with "Japan ministry" in the memo section.
