

Born in Forlì del Sannio, Italy, on December 9, 1928, she was the beloved daughter of Giuseppe and Concetta Iacovetta. In 1932, Aida journeyed to America with her mother by ship, beginning a new life in Erie, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Erie, graduated from Strong Vincent High School, and went on to pursue her calling in nursing. She graduated from St. Vincent School of Nursing in the 1950s and began her career at the Cleveland Clinic before later moving to Washington, D.C. There, she continued her work in private duty nursing through the Red Cross and at Washington Hospital Center.
While living in Washington, D.C., Aida met Thomas Brodie. They married on May 30, 1959, and built a beautiful life together.
Aida is survived by her children: Aidamaria Hatch, Curtis Brodie, Diana Hurey, Sandy Brodie (Steve Paul), and Thomas M. Brodie and his fiancée , Helen Searles. She is also cherished by her grandchildren: Kristin Jordan (Chris Jordan), Mette Ridenour (Ross Ridenour), Ryan Brodie, Ashley Hurey, Brittany Dowler (Matt Dowler), Courtney Hurey, Rich Hurey, Hunter Paul, and Milo Paul.
Aida is survived by her brothers, Michael Iacovetta and Richard Iacovetta.
Her legacy continues through her great‑grandchildren: Anders Jordan, Rosalind Ridenour, and Blake Dowler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Brodie.
