Althea Denise "Denyse" Spence

Althea Denise (“Denyse”) Spence was born on February 2, 1962, in Augsburg, Germany. She was the only child of William Kelly and Susie Mae Moore. In 1963, the family returned to the U.S. briefly before moving to Japan in around 1967. The family came back to the U.S. for good a year later and eventually settled in the DMV, where Denyse graduated from Blair High School in 1980.

Denyse got saved in 1975 while attending Church of God in Washington, DC. She had many years of service at the Gospel Spreading Church of God. She later attended Christian Fellowship Assembly church where she first met her husband Earl in 1987. They married on October 9, 1993 and had two children, Nikki in 1994 and Ricco in 1997.

Denyse was revered by her husband, adored by her children, trusted and honored by friends and family, and she was an inspiration to countless other people too numerous to be named. She passed away on December 20, 2024. She will be missed greatly, but we know she is resting in the Presence of her Creator.

Denyse is survived by her mother (Susie), husband (Earl), two children (Nikki and Ricco), and grandson (Kamari). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, other family, and many longtime friends.
