Ana Lydia Reyes

Ana Reyes, (Mama/Mami Ana), passed away peacefully at 6:09am on December 10th, 2020. Ana went to be with the Lord at the age of 85 in her home of Gaithersburg, Maryland. Pre deceased by her Father, Hipolito and Mother, Obdulia, and sisters, Confessora and Cecilia. She will forever be lovingly remembered by her Husband, Angel (Mikey). Her children Lilliana, Yvonne, and Alberto. Her grandchildren, Janice, Roseanne, Alberto Jr; Daniel, and Nicki. Her great- grandchildren, Janel and Deana. Her great-great granddaughter, Elliana. She will also be remembered by her brother, Liden. Many nieces and nephews, and lots of friends. Mama was born on January 18th, 1935 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She grew up loving music and dancing, gardening and of course, the beach. As Mama got older, she relocated to the place where her next chapter, would begin. Brooklyn, New York. This was where Mama really blossomed into the woman we all know and love- Our feisty, tiny, strong, loving Mother. It is also where she met her one and only true love, Angel. Fate brought them together 68 years ago and together they defeated all odds. They were happily married and were the true definition of real love, for all these years. Together, they built a foundation of love and family. Without Mama’s love and guidance, none of us would be who we are today. Papa once said that,” Mama was the angel he had always dreamed of and once they were together, he always feared losing her and his family so he worked hard to provide for his family with what he could and he also said he did whatever Mama told him to do!” Happy wife happy life.

Today we celebrate Ana. Mama, may you rest in eternal peace. We will forever carry your memory in our hearts.
