Andrea was predeceased by her husband “Tiff”, daughter Bonnie, and granddaughter Kyshaye. Andrea is survived by her brother Bill, three sons (Bruce, Baynard, and Stephen), five grandchildren (Keyonndra, Lee, Azalea, Samuel, and Zinnia), and a great granddaughter.
Andrea was the daughter of John and Mary Ella Rodgers, last residing in Thornton PA, Thornbury Township. That house holds many generations of memories.
Andrea graduated from Henderson High School, class of 1963, and married Tiffany “Tiff” Bailey in 1964. The budding family moved from East Orange NJ to Schenectady NY to Esperance NY in 1969.
Esperance housed four children and about a dozen foster kids over the years. Andrea ran a daycare out of the house for a few years, but her main employment was as a bank teller. In 1998 (or there about), Andrea began hosting a Christmas Eve party. That event grew over the years.
In 1985 the family moved to Alplaus, NY. That was another interesting house where Andrea gave piano lessons and the Christmas Eve party tradition continued, now in much closer proximity to our church community. There were also many games of Bridge!
First United Methodist Church (FUMC) was a central feature in the lives of the family. Andrea was extremely active. Her first role was as a youth group leader. The most adventurous, a trip to El Salvador. The most prestigious was as a delegate to UMC General Conference. The most meaningful was more than a decade with SICM, Schenectady Inner City Ministries, including youth outreach and food bank.
Eventually, Andrea left Alplaus to care for her parents back in Thornton. She stayed in that house a few years after their passing.
For their retirement years, Andrea and Tiff relocated to Seneca, South Carolina, in 2014. In 2015 Andrea was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was fond of saying that she survived the cancer but not the treatment, and her health steadily declined. As Andrea’s mobility decreased, Tiff took care of her, but when he had a crisis, he was moved into Achieve Rehabilitation where Andrea joined him.
Tiffany passed in January of 2025. Andrea moved to Frederick shortly thereafter.

An informal graveside memorial is planned for July 15th, 2026 where the cremation urns will be inurned to a family plot in the Thornton Cemetery.
