Angelo Gus Chakalakis

He was a devoted husband to Helen Chakalakis for 43 years. The loving father to Anastasia, Athena, Anna and Gus and grandfather to Charles, Matthew, John, Sophia, Samantha and Sonia. The son of Gus and Athena Chakalakis and the youngest of his five siblings, Anna, Pete, Aphrodite, John, and George.

Angelo served his country proudly and honorably in the United States Navy as an HM2 (Hospital Corpsman) for 4 years and was awarded a National Defense Service Medal. He retired from Safeway after 40+ years where his customers knew him as “Chuck.”

He enjoyed traveling to Greece, dancing, singing and most of all, spending time with his family where he told many humorous stories about his life experiences. He loved his family and friends, knew how to make people laugh and will be loved and missed dearly.

On Friday, June 17, friends may call at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral from 10:00 AM until 11 AM. Services will begin at 11 AM. You may send flowers directly to the church.
