Anna Marie Cannon

Born February 24, 1935, in Ashland Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Iona Appleby. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Robert and Thomas and her sister Sherry Welch (Warren). She is survived by her brother Joe Appleby (Karen).

She grew up during the later years of the Great Depression and in the aftermath of the Dust Bowl, experiences that shaped her resilience and strength.

In August 1962, she married the love of her life, Daniel P. Cannon, and together they shared 61 years of unwavering love until his passing in October 2023. While she loved her career as a nurse and Air Force flight nurse, above all else her greatest joy was raising her children. She was the devoted mother to Michael J. Cannon, Mark T. Cannon, and Dawn M. Messier (Bob W. Messier) and the proud grandmother to Robert D. Messier and Samantha M. Messier.

She will be remembered for her strength, resilience, steady presence, and the wonderful memories she created with family and friends, and the love she shared with those around her.

There will be no public viewing. Family and friends will gather for a graveside service at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
