Aura Orellana

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Aura Orellana, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and active member of the Catholic Church community. Aura peacefully passed away at the age of 91 on April 21, 2023. She was surrounded by loved ones at the time of passing.

Aura, the family matriarch, was a devoted mother to her six children, who she showered with unconditional love. She was also a doting and beloved grandmother to her many grandchildren. Aura was a dedicated member of her church while also volunteering her time in many church functions, bringing joy and fellowship to those around her.

She is survived by her children, Faye, Wilder, Aura, Grace, Cecilia, Michelle, her son-in-laws, Axel and Jose, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her son-in-law, Ricardo Lopez, and her grandson, Kevin Chacon. Aura will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she impacted.

A visitation will be held at DeVol Funeral Home, Gaithersburg, MD on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 9:00AM to 10:00AM followed by a funeral service the same day to celebrate Aura’s life from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at her church, St. Martin’s of Tours, Gaithersburg, MD to fondly remember her.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to support The Kline Hospice House where she spent her final days cared for with gentle and unconditional love.
