In my 46 years in medicine, as one of the leaders of the original Capital Gastroenterology Associates and then of Capital Digestive Care until my retirement in 2017, I always marveled at Barb's dedication to excellence at work, her caring for all of the endoscopy staff she directed, and for her concern and kindness shown to all of her patients. In my experience, I have encountered only a few nurses like her that were so focused on the "art of nursing," and so skillful in the management of surgical centers. Barb was truly special and one of a kind. She will be missed by family and friends, and by those of us who had the privilege of working with her. May she rest in peace.

I had the honor and privilege of working with Barb as the second President of ESCM and ESCM-North.  She was there from the beginning and was instrumental in getting these facilities off the ground.  Barb was the pinnacle of nursing professionalism, and this flowed through her tireless efforts as the Center Director of these facilities, and she would often work late in the evening and weekends to make sure that everything was in place.   Her goals of patient safety and center efficiency were always achieved as a result of her relentless pursuit of perfection.   She was extremely proud of her family, and updates on her grandchildren were always delivered with a big smile.   She will be missed.  Rest in peace Barb.

Barb Pedersen was the consummate nurse, leader, mentor and friend. As the Center Administrator of two GI centers, her leadership and standards of care were above reproach.

While she always set high expectations on our job performance, she also showed sweet sensitivity on a personal level. Just as one example of this, I once admired a pair of earrings that she was wearing. When she later drew my name for a "secret Santa" gift, she surprised and pleased me with earrings just like hers!

Barb had intelligence, character and a work ethic of the highest caliber. Those of us lucky enough to have worked with her were honored to follow her lead.

May she rest in peace.

So sad to hear of Barbs passing.  It's crazy to think Barb was one of my very first GI customers 30 plus years ago giving very green rep the knowledge, support and kindness in the crazy Endoscopy business. Her door was always open for many conversations on business, family and just pure laughs!  I truly miss her and dropping off her yearly bottle boubon for Christmas 🎄   RIP my Friend

Ms.Barbara was a dedicated blessed woman with many gifts and talents. She was a hard worker serious about doing things right. I remember the first day I met her over ten years now she was warm, full of Joy and very candid. She would put on every hat in the work place  to keep the daily routine of the day in motion. She was funny as she shared with me many times her love for her family and even her struggles at times. I really loved her and she will be truly missed. Thank God she is resting now from her labor and has gained her reward in heaven. I pray God strength, peace and comfort for the family as you share the fond memories of Ms. Barbara God Bless you all in Jesus Christ name Amen.
