Caroline Patricia McGreal

Caroline Patricia (Boyle) McGreal, age 54, of Bethesda, MD, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 4, 2022. Carrie was born August 27, 1967 in Recife, Brazil to Neil Boyle and Joan (Kane) Boyle and grew up on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

She was an alumnus of Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School of Washington, DC and Loyola University Maryland of Baltimore, MD, and worked for Verizon Business Government Division for over twenty years.

Carrie met her husband, Joe, at Loyola, they married in 1991 and together raised three beautiful daughters. She was actively involved with the Church of the Little Flower, the Little Flower School, St. John’s College High School, Kenwood Golf and Country Club and various other community organizations. Carrie loved playing word games, solving puzzles and reading in her spare time.

Carrie McGreal was as kind, considerate, and compassionate as she was tough and courageous. She had a loving personality, quick wit, and an absolutely infectious laugh. She was a perfectionist with a keen eye for detail. Carrie was adored by the many, many people who were fortunate to have her as a friend. She will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her.

Carrie is survived by her husband Joseph McGreal; daughters Maggie, Colleen, and Erin McGreal; sisters Christie Boyle of New York City and Catherine Boyle of Washington, DC; mother Joan Boyle of New York City; father Neil Boyle of Frederick, MD; mother-in-law Peggie McGreal of Spring Lake, NJ; sister-in-law Pegeen and Jerry Whalen and their son, Joseph, of Lincroft, NJ; and brother-in-law, Patrick McGreal, his wife Kathy and their son, Patrick, of Guilderland, NY.

A funeral mass will be offered on Friday, July 8 at 10am at the Church of the Little Flower in Bethesda, MD.
