

Diana was a native of Napa, California. She loved to sing and perform. She sang in her church choir growing up and was a member of a girls club who performed annual musicals.
She loved math and went to University of California at Berkeley where she pursued a degree in accounting. There she also met Walt and it was love at first sight. They were married in 1964. They took turns working and finishing their last year at Berkeley before graduating. They eventually settled on the East Coast. She always supported Walt's love of the outdoors and all his athletic events. She also loved being a mother to Jeff and Kathryn and a grandmother. Her grandsons called her Grandmommy.
She was a devout Catholic and tried to live her life each day for God. Her goal in life was to reach Heaven and take all she knew with her. She encouraged us to lead by example and to take responsibility for our actions.She was a very active member in her parish at St. John Neumann, as well as a member of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites.
She was very generous and a “helping hand” to many in need.Diana was loved by all who met her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Anita Andrews. She is survived by her husband Walt Brown, children Jeff Brown and Kathryn (Barry) Battle, and her grandsons Griffin and Jenson Battle. She is also survived by her siblings Donna Hawkins, Michael (Roxanne) Andrews, and Kelly Andrews.
Visitation will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Gaithersburg, MD on Saturday, August 19, 2023 beginning at 10:00am. Mass of Catholic Burial to follow at 11:00am, followed by Interment at All Soul's Cemetery, Germantown, MD.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to Catholic Charities.
