

Edward was born and raised in Nebraska. He received his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine. As a doctor, he served in the United States Navy, stationed in York Harbor, Maine, for several years. He then moved to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area where he was in private psychiatric/psychoanalytic practice for over forty years. Edward completed his psychoanalytic training at, and was a long-time member of, the Baltimore Washington Psychoanalytic Institute (currently known as the Washington Baltimore Center for Psychoanalysis). He also enjoyed teaching classes for new candidates at the Institute. He served on the Board of the St. Luke Institute (Maryland) for six years and was honored to do so. Edward greatly enjoyed playing the piano and learning jazz, taking family trips to the beach, gardening, and playing golf. He always enjoyed returning to Nebraska to visit extended family and friends, attend class reunions, and drive by the family farm.He is survived by three daughters, Julie Royson of Sammamish, WA; Peggy Schnoor and Lisa Schnoor, both of Silver Spring, MD; and one granddaughter, Kim Bussing of Tucson, AZ.

A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, December 14, 9:00-10:00 a.m. at DeVol Funeral Home (Gaithersburg, MD), followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church (201 S Frederick Ave, Gaithersburg, MD) and burial at All Souls Cemetery in Germantown, MD.
