Elaine Buchko

Age 79, of Springfield, VA, formerly of Johnstown, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on August 12, 2017.   Beloved wife of 60 years to Michael Buchko; loving mother of  Michael (Douglas Loy) Buchko, Melanie (Alexander) Kyrnitsky, and Mark (Jennifer) Buchko; adored grandmother of Michael Buchko III, Jonathan (Lara) Krynitsky, Stephanie Krynitsky, Emma Buchko, and Timothy Buchko; and sister of Patricia Buchko and Frances Settlemire.  She also is survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended family in Johnstown, PA.

Elaine graduated as Salutatorian of Johnstown High school.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing, taking care of her plants, but most of all she cherished her grandchildren and her family. A Viewing will be held at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, 10201 Democracy Blvd.,Potomac, MD 20854, on Wednesday, August 16 from 5:00-8:00 PM and on Thursday August 17 from 9:30 until time of Funeral Services at 10:00 AM.  A graveside service will be held at GrandviewCemetery, Johnstown, PA on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 10:00 AM (Please meet at cemetery office at 9:45AM).  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Elaine Buchko’s name to Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church.
