

On Sunday, April 9, 2023, Elizabeth Marcella Kline passed away peacefully. She was the beloved wife of the late Howard Thompson Kline; loving mother of Joan Hawkins (David), Mark Kline, Mary Ann Bass (William) and John Kline (Melinda), the late Michael Kline (Meg) and the late James Kline. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-grandchildren.
Elizabeth was born on July 30, 1929, in Powhatan Point, Ohio, the ninth of ten children to Mary and John Yankoski. She grew up in Moundsville, West Virginia, moving to Washington, DC in 1949 where she met her husband, Howard Kline. They married June 7, 1952 and raised six children in Montgomery County, Maryland.
She worked at Vitro Laboratories, in Silver Spring, Maryland in the Duplication and Bindery Department for twenty years. She was acknowledged there for her dedication, leadership, management skills and as an outstanding supervisor. Upon retiring from Vitro in May of 1986, she worked for Howard Security for several years as a security officer at Virto Laboratories.
Elizabeth was a devout Catholic and a member of St. John Neumann Catholic church in Gaithersburg, Maryland. After retirement, she spent her time with her children and grandchildren and visiting her family in her hometown of Moundsville, West Virginia. She was a member of the Moundsville VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the Elizabethtown Community Educational Outreach Club and was a volunteer for Appalachian Outreach, Wheeling, West Virginia.
Elizabeth was known for her great hospitality everyone was always welcome in her home. In her final years, Elizabeth suffered with dementia. Despite the disease, she was strong and resilient, dealing with the challenges of the disease with faith and perseverance. Even though ill she was often found seeking to help those around her. Elizabeth was an extraordinary woman with a deep faith. She lived a good life, loved and was well loved. She will be greatly missed on this earth. May the angels lead her into paradise.
Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am for a visitation at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 9000 Warfield Road, Gaithersburg, Maryland with Mass of Christian Burial offered at 11:30am.
Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, Maryland.
