Ervin was born in Washington D.C. to parents José and Esperanza Pelaez and preceded in death by both. Ervin is survived by his wife of 26 years, Melissa Pelaez; son Tristan Pelaez; sister Norma Rivera; brother Rony Pelaez; nieces Dana Ventura, Destiny Pelaez and Shelby Schoen; nephews Ernesto Rivera and Dylan Schoen.
Ervin was a long-time employee of the Leisure World of Maryland Corporation where he started as a cook at 19 years old, working his way up to Warehouse Manager. He had to leave at age 49 due complications from diabetes and end stage renal failure.
Ervin enjoyed watching all sports, but especially loved watching football. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys since he was a young boy. You could always catch him engaging in deep discussions or quoting stats for all teams, as well as other sports.
Ervin’s true joy was his family. He was a loving husband, devoted father and brother, and loved his fur babies (Stewie, Chumlee, Chrissy & Archer) with all his heart.
Ervin’s wishes were to be cremated and a memorial to celebrate his life will be held at the Northcreek Community Center, 20125 Arrowhead Road, Montgomery Village, MD 20886 on Saturday March 4, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM. All are welcome. The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
