

She is survived by her daughters Adelina (Nina) DiSessa-Christensen and Nora Field. Nana she affectionally was called by her grandchildren, Danielle Field, Laura Yerge, and Ryan Yerge, and her great grandchildren, Leia and Aaliyah.
Estella was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She had an identical twin sister Chula Biel. They were adopted as infants. She and her sister had a tight bond as children and remained close until her sister’s death 6 years ago. Even though they lived in separate countries they called each other monthly talking and sharing stories. They visited each other over the years.
Estella’s husband, Ultimo DiSessa, was in the Italian Merchant Marines. After World War II had ended, he stayed in Argentina. He and Estella met in Buenos Aires and married in 1955. In 1956 they embarked on a new life and came to the United States and became American citizens. They made their home in Washington, DC initially and eventually moved to the Maryland suburbs and where they raised their daughters. She and her husband were devout Catholics and belonged to Holy Family Church in Hillcrest Heights Maryland, they raised their daughters in the Catholic tradition.
Estella was a homemaker caring for her daughter’s until they began to attend school. She began to work as a sales associate for Avon Cosmetics. She then went on to work for Russell’s Stover’s Candy Store. Eventually she began a career as a sales associate at the Hecht Company and retired after working 10 years. She then looked after her grandchildren over the years and enjoyed watching them grow.
She was a strong, courageous and beautiful women who loved her family tremendously. She came to the US facing a new way of life, learning a new language, and learning to drive and always steadfast and motivated and determined as a mother and wife.
In 2004, Estella relocated to Naples and lived near her daughter and grandchildren to be in a warmer climate. Through the years she would travel to Virginia to spend time with her daughter Nora and
Danielle her granddaughter. Eventually she would live with her daughter Nina in Naples due to her health.
Friends may call at DeVol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20877 on Friday February 4, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM.
Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD at 12:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Alzheimers Support Network, Collier County, Naples, FL
