Fred J Rice, III

Rick was born in Washington, DC on July 29, 1947 to Fred J. Rice, Jr. and Marie Howard Rice. He graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes School, Good Counsel High School, and Wheeling Jesuit University before earning an MBA at Rutgers University.

Rick married Eileen McNamara in 1972. His life with Eileen followed the mantra, Life is Good. They shared a wide range of interests and prioritized time with family and friends. Rick’s natural optimism and respect for others was the foundation of many strong relationships. His desire was to connect with people from all walks of life and to help others in any way he could.

While he started his career at Riggs National Bank, during his 16 years at Residential Funding Corporation, Rick combined his love for building relationships with a talent for making strategic business decisions.

He will be missed by his wife, their daughters, Kathleen Lowenthal (Craig), Ellen Golden (Mark) and their grandchildren, Natalie and Elise Lowenthal and Jimmy and Lucy Golden. Loving siblings include Joan Krause (Jerry), Sue Pizzi (Vernon), Tom Rice (Ellen), and Matthew Rice (Barbara).

A funeral mass will be held at 12pm on Tuesday November 28th at Church of the Little Flower in Bethesda, MD.
