German Alberto Sorto

German Alberto “Betillo” Sorto Fuentes nació en Morazán, El Salvador, el 30 de septiembre de 1979. A los 17 años se mudó a los Estados Unidos con su hermana, Ana, y comenzó a trabajar en Nueva York en una empresa de techado de su propiedad. por su tío, Ernesto Sorto. En 2001 se mudó a Maryland, donde comenzó a trabajar como carpintero en ART Design / Build, y aprendió un oficio que eventualmente se convertiría en una carrera de por vida.

Durante los últimos 20 años, trabajó en proyectos en toda el área de Maryland, poniendo en práctica su talento creando hermosas casas para muchos clientes con sus excelentes habilidades de carpintería. Era un maestro carpintero y se enorgullecía de su trabajo.

En 2006, comenzó a trabajar con Vanessa Strunk y juntos comenzaron Green Diva Designs. Trabajaron con cientos de clientes a lo largo de los años, muchos de los cuales consideraban a Betillo un querido amigo. Los clientes de la empresa lo amaban por sus modales amables y su actitud relajada, y por la forma en que cambió sus vidas con su hermosa artesanía.

Betillo vivía en Gaithersburg, Maryland con su madre y su abuela. Sus hijos, hermanos y sus numerosas sobrinas y sobrinos disfrutaron allí de muchas reuniones familiares. Betillo era un ávido fanático del fútbol y fue fanático del Barcelona desde hace mucho tiempo. Disfrutaba conduciendo su motocicleta, comiendo buena comida y escuchando música. Siempre tenía una sonrisa, una palabra amable y se reía rápido. Tocó muchas vidas y todos los que lo conocieron lo extrañarán mucho.

Betillo fallece antes que su padre, José Germán Sorto. A Betillo le sobreviven su abuela Ernestine Fuentes, su madre, Amanda Fuentes, tres hermanas Ana, Karina y Cecilia, y su hermano Ever Sorto, y sus queridos hijos, Erika, Jeffery y Valentina, Sherlyn y Emely. También le sobrevive una gran familia extensa de tíos, tías, primos, sobrinas y sobrinos, cuñados y cuñados, y muchos amigos.

Los servicios se llevarán a cabo el martes 12 de octubre de 2021 en la Iglesia Católica St. Rose of Lima en Gaithersburg, Maryland. El visionado será a las 11:30 a.m. La misa será de 12:00 a 1:00 p.m.

El sepelio será en el cementerio All Souls en Germantown, Maryland después del servicio.

German Alberto “Betillo” Sorto Fuentes was born in Morazan, El Salvador, on September 30, 1979. At the age of 17, he moved to the United States with his sister, Ana, and began working in New York at a roofing company owned by his uncle, Ernesto Sorto. In 2001 he relocated to Maryland where he started working as a carpenter at ART Design/Build, and learned a trade that would eventually become a lifetime career.

Over the last 20 years, he worked on projects all over the Maryland area, putting his talents to use creating beautiful homes for many clients with his fine carpentry skills. He was a master carpenter and took much pride in his work.

In 2006, he began working with Vanessa Strunk and together they started Green Diva Designs. They worked with 100s of clients over the years, many of whom considered Betillo a dear friend. He was beloved by the company’s clients for his kind manner and his easygoing attitude, and for the way he changed their lives with his beautiful craftsmanship.

Betillo lived in Gaithersburg, Maryland with his mother and grandmother. His children, siblings and his numerous nieces and nephews enjoyed many family gatherings there. Betillo was an avid soccer fan and was a longtime fan of Barcelona. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, eating good food, and listening to music. He always had a smile, a kind word, and was quick to laugh. He touched many lives, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Betillo is predeceased by his father, Jose German Sorto. Betillo is survived by his grandmother Ernestine Fuentes, his mother, Amanda Fuentes, three sisters Ana, Karina, and Cecilia, and brother Ever Sorto, and his beloved children, Erika, Jeffery, and Valentina, Sherlyn, and Emely. He is also survived by a large extended family of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters in law, and many friends.

Services will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Viewing will be at 11:30 a.m. Mass will be from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.

Interment will be at All Souls Cemetery in Germantown, Maryland following the service.
