Helen Golden Collins

On September 5, 2018 of Chevy Chase, MD, age 98, beloved mother of Patrick (Harriet), Carolyn (John Hyland), Kevin (Margaret Samuels), Anne, Stephen (Carin). Grandmother to JP, Emily, Rory, Paul, Sarah, Jena, Lundy, PJ, Lucy, Allen, Matthew, Brendan, and Georgia. Great-Grandmother to Henry, Fiora, Killian, Charlotte and Eleanor. Francis, her beloved husband of 69 years died in 2012.

Helen excelled at sports, including tennis, golf, swimming and softball, usually at Sherwood Forest, MD, a place she loved.

After college, she worked as a staffer on Capitol Hill and later as a librarian at Stone Ridge School. Helen was an integral part of the Notre Dame-DC Basketball Connection, encouraging the elite DC players to join the Irish.

Friends may call on Wednesday, September 12, 2018  at The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Quesada St & Western Ave., N.W Washington, DC, from 10 AM until time of Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM
