Helen Bernice Parris, 95 years, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2018 at Brooke Grove Rehab and Long Term Care, Sandy Spring, MD, leaving three children, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted wife for 73 years to James Parris (1920-2012), and was pre-deceased by her daughter, Doris Ann and son, Steven.
Helen, as she was known to the staff at Brook Grove and Bernice, as she was known to her family and friends, was born and raised in Athens, Tennessee and settled with James after World War 2 in Rockville MD to raise their family. Bernice and Jim had a happy 20 year retirement in Harborton VA in the lower Easter Shore of Virginia where they hosted many family events and supplied an endless amount of crabs.
A memorial service/celebration of life will be held at Twinbrook Baptist Church on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 12:00 noon.
