James (Jimmy) Edward Charbonneau, Junior, 56, of Rockville, Maryland passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. He was born on May 19, 1968, as the second oldest of seven children to Dr. James and Mary Charbonneau of Rockville, Maryland.
The Charbonneau family are long time parishioners of Saint Mary’s Church and Jimmy and his siblings are alumni of Saint Mary’s School in Rockville. Jimmy was a gentle and generous person, who gave what he had joyfully and selflessly. His brothers and sisters remember years of Jimmy handing out envelopes of cash on birthdays as a proud big brother and uncle. As a young man, he was a talented sportsman, and as his younger brother tells it, he could bench 400lbs, could dunk a tennis ball (and almost a basketball) and was a standout soccer and softball player. Jimmy always loved fishing with his father and brothers, enjoyed sharing meals at family celebrations, and connected warmly with the family dogs (again sharing generously whatever he had on his plate with adoring canines). His family sends deep-felt gratitude to the staff and community of Cornerstone Montgomery who helped to support Jimmy for many years.
Jimmy was a loving and beloved son, brother, and uncle. Those left to honor his memory include his parents, Dr. James and Mary Charbonneau; brothers Michael Charbonneau (Natalie) and John Charbonneau; sisters Mari Pridemore (Dennis), Anne Cardile (Daniel), Teresa Robertson (David), and Paula Charbonneau (John Michael Ford); two nephews, Dominick Charbonneau and Charles Robertson; and five nieces, Heather DeLauter (Daniel), Jennifer Pridemore, Diana Robertson, Julia and Ella Charbonneau.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at Saint Mary’s Chapel at 520 Veirs Mill Road, Rockville, MD on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 11:00am. Visitation will be held at Saint Mary’s Chapel from 10:00AM to 11:00AM. Burial after mass at Saint Mary's Cemetery, 1225 Baltimore Road, Rockville, MD.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cornerstone Montgomery, an organization that so blessed Jimmy and his family.
