

James Fahey passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, December 10, 2016. Born in Washington, DC to Joseph and Gertrude Fahey, he was a resident of Rockville, MD since 1955. Jim or “Jimmy” will be remembered for his big personality, his excellent cooking skills, the enjoyment of sharing his meals with others and a wonderful singing voice. While he lived with modest means, he was always willing to share whatever he had with anyone needing help. He also had a strong devotion to his Irish heritage.
Jim is survived by his kind and devoted wife of 66 years, Agnes Zenia Fahey (Gallegos), six children Daniel (Maria), Patrick, Donna, Timothy (Naveen), Joseph (Holly) and Kevin (Gwen) and 10 grandchildren Stephanie, Michael Brandon, Christina, Andrew, Jonathan, Alex, Allison, Kristin, Hayley and Shawn. Jim is also survived by his three siblings Patricia, Ellen and Michael.
Jimmy served military duty with the Coast Guard at the end of WWII and used the GI Bill to earn an AA degree in electronics. He spent most of his career with the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC as an electronics consultant.
Visitation services will be held Thursday evening, December 15th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Rockville, MD from 6:00-8:00pm, with a Mass the following morning, Friday, December 16 th at 10:30am.
His ashes will be interred at Arlington Cemetery in 2017.
