Katherine Adele Terpilak

Katherine Adele Terpilak, most loving mother and wife, was called to eternal life on August 13th, 2024. She was born to Eastern European immigrant parents on the lower east side of New York City. The family moved to a small farm in eastern Connecticut during the Great Depression. Over time, without any formal business or jewelry training, she operated three successful retail jewelry establishments. Her career spanned approximately forty years. She retired in 2012 at the age of 83 from Bethesda Jewelers in Bethesda, Maryland, now owned by her son Tom. One of her favorite pastimes was attending antique shows and flea markets. She is preceded in death by two sisters, a brother, her son Steven, and her husband Michael. Survivors include her son Tom and wife Sue of Gaithersburg, MD, son Jeffrey of Silver Spring, MD, step granddaughter Lindsay, husband James, great grandchildren J.J., Matthew and Evelyn as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
