

Kwadwo Nyantakyi Kwakye, affectionately called Paa Kojo or Po, was born on December 24th 1979 at the 37 Military Hospital to Yaw (of blessed memory) and Lucy Kwakye. Paa Kojo’s birth was one of great joy to the family. He lived with his parents and siblings at Dansoman Estates in Ghana, West Africa.
He attended St. Agnes Nursery School and later enrolled at St. Bernadette Soubirous Primary School and JSS. A happy person who was friends with almost everyone he came across, Paa Kojo was well known in the neighborhood with nicknames from friends and family like Gold Coast Soldier, Ostropogas, Jazzy, Polojo, P.K. etc. He completed JSS in 1994. He had his secondary education at Prempeh College in Kumasi following in the footsteps of his father and older brother. Paa Kojo always cherished vacation time when he came home to his parents in Accra. After completing Prempeh College in 1997, he took the SATs and gained admission to Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington, Delaware.
Paa Kojo bid his parents and brother goodbye in February 2001 to begin the next chapter of his life in the US. After a semester of attending Goldey Beacom, he transferred to Lincoln University in Missouri. He relocated to Maryland after his graduation.
He met his wife Nanette in Maryland. They traveled to Ghana for their traditional marriage ceremony in April 2015. They married in Maryland in July 2016 and were blessed in 2018 with a beautiful boy Jadon.
He adored his family. Paa Kojo’s health problems never deterred him from having a constant smile on his face. He was an avid Chelsea fan. He was passionate about his work.
Paa Kojo was called to be with his maker on the morning of February 15th 2021. Paa Kojo fought the good fight and has earned his rest in the arms of his maker. We are comforted by Psalm 121:7 , “The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.” We love you Paa Kojo and may God be with you till we meet again.
