Noël is survived by his wife, Catherine, his children, Marie-Aude and Bertrand, his grandchildren, Victor and Rose, his sisters Rose Anzian and Chantal Séry, along with many other loving siblings and close family members.
Noël grew up in Côte d’Ivoire and later moved to Brussels, Belgium where he pursued studies in the veterinary field and met his wife. They later returned to Côte d’Ivoire to start their married life, before moving to the US in the late 1980’s.
Noël was a devoted husband, a loving and caring father, a cherished brother, an attentive grandfather, a beloved uncle, and a dear friend to many. He valued the people he loved above all else and was known for his sincerity and generosity. He believed in activism to right the world’s wrongs and encouraged those around him to believe in themselves, pick themselves up when they were down and reach for their goals.
Throughout his life, Noël was an avid sports fan. He was a handball champion and practiced Tae Kwondo, and even acted in his youth. He also liked to show off his dance moves anytime Rock ‘n’ Roll or Cuban beats came on. He enjoyed cooking and, even when authentic ingredients were still sparse in the US, he would find creative solutions to recreate his favorite Ivorian dishes. In his later years, meditation and crosswords were some of his favorite pastimes. Most of all, he loved being surrounded by his family and made sure to always remind them how much he loved them.
Those who knew Noël will remember his sharp intellect, his integrity, his humor and his kindness. He will remain forever in our hearts.
Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Noël 's life at DeVol Funeral Home, Gaithersburg, MD on Saturday, August 8, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Saint Francis House (give.stfrancishouse.org/noel-guie)
