

Leonard Francis was born on November 27, 1959, on the island of Jamaica. His parents were James Francis and Lena Marshall. He was formerly educated at Tarrant Secondary School and later attended classes at Montgomery College in Rockville, MD. In the 1980s, he reached several milestones such as giving his life to Christ, becoming a worship leader at Faith Cathedral Deliverance Center, and the Loving Brothers singing ministry group leader. His love for music earned him first place in the “Tastee Talent Contest,” National Library of Jamaica (like a mini version of American Idol). Leonard’s love for music, his voice, and his personality became iconic everywhere he went.
In 1988, Mr. Francis married Charmaine Reynolds. This union produced three children, Francisco Francis, Shantelle Francis, and Shaneka Francis. Mr. Francis lost his mother shortly after birth. In 1996 he lost his father and aunt, Edith Francis who was his guardian. In March 2020 Mr. Francis experienced a major stroke, and a recurring stroke in April 2023. He peacefully went home to glory on April 17, 2023.
He leaves behind his wife, Charmaine Francis, one son, Francisco Francis; two daughters, Shantelle, and Shaneka Francis, one grandson, Kamari Williams; one sister, Sharon Francis-Fairweather; two brothers, Lloyd (Junior) and Henry (Shawn) Francis; hosts of nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
