Marie Howard Rice

Marie Howard Rice, of Chevy Chase, MD, a lifelong Washingtonian, died on Tuesday, January 5, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Fred J. Rice, Jr.; loving mother of Rick Rice and his wife Eileen, Bethesda, MD, Joan Krause and her husband Jerry, Fenwick Island, DE, Susan Pizzi and her husband Vernon, Davidsonville, MD, Tom Rice and his wife Ellen, Ellicott City, MD and Matt Rice and his wife Barbara, Bethesda, MD; loving grandmother of 12 and great grandmother of 10.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Church of the Little Flower, 5607 Massachusetts Ave., Bethesda, MD 20816 on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 1:30 p.m., where friends will be received from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Interment will be held privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to either Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of Washington, 924 G Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001 or Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School, 1524 35th Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20007.
