

Richard D. Zaremba, Sr., 55, of Owings, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on November 1, 2018. He was raised in Rockville, Maryland; son of Chester C. and Liesel I. Zaremba and was currently residing in Owings, Maryland with his beloved fiancée Jennifer L. DiMisa.
Richard proudly served in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer and loved his country. While his son was growing up, he shared many memories with him at their West Virginia property. He was a skilled mechanic, loved to tinker and build things, enjoyed cars, fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to any and all. He spent most weekends with his fiancée and friends at their “slice of heaven” in Port Tobacco, Maryland, where they had ultimately planned their retirement. He will be truly missed by all of those that knew him.
Richard was preceded by his father Chester C. Zaremba. He is survived by his mother, Liesel I. Zaremba; fiancée Jennifer L. DiMisa, loving son Richard D. Zaremba, Jr. and best friend James Hill. He is also survived by sisters Anna-Marie Gallart and Stephanie B. Zaremba, as well as, brother-in-laws, nieces and many other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held at DeVol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, Maryland on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. A private interment will be held at Arlington Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard’s memory can be made to Fisher House Foundation (@Fisherhouse.org) a charitable organization aiding Veterans and their families.
