Rita Verkouteren (Age 91) passed away peacefully on March 22, 2021. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother (and surrogate mom to many through the years), grandmother, sister, aunt, nurse, friend, x-country skier, cycler, world traveler, food lover, nutritionist, and lifelong learner. She was loved by many and will be missed by all... a life well-lived. Rita earned a nursing degree in 1952 from Georgetown University and worked as an RN at Sibley Memorial Hospital and NIH before dedicating herself to her family. Rita is survived by her husband (Bob) of 66 years, three children (Mike, Steve, Dana), and four grandchildren (Bryan, Lydia, Bailey, Corey).
