

On Saturday, September 7, 2024, Robert (Bob) L. Graves passed away peacefully, after a brief illness surrounded by family and friends. Bob was born on June 6,1947, in Washington, DC. He graduated from Oxon Hill High School in 1965 and achieved a teaching degree from Frostburg State College in 1969.
Bob retired from Prince Georges County Public Schools in 2002 following a 32 year career. His entire teaching career was spent at Parkdale High School in Riverdale, MD, where he met his future wife, Nina Gindlesperger.
Following retirement Bob became a full-time real estate agent in Montgomery County. He was an agent and associate broker for more than 40 years. He applied his business acumen to become a top performer. Bob's personality and aptitude for teaching led him to be a mentor and coach for many of his colleagues.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Robert H. Graves and Virginia Rensch Graves and his brother Charles K. Graves.
He is survived by Nina, his sister Cande Jarboe (Jack), sister-in-law Marlene Graves, and sister-in-law Anne Rankin (Richard). He is also survived by nieces and nephews Kimberly Graves, John-Charles Graves, Sarah Graves, Jeff Jarboe, Aimee Zimmerli and several great nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at DeVol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD, on September 30th at 10:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of donations to Gaithersburg Meals on Wheels, his favorite charity, where he volunteered for many years, or to a charity of your choice.
