Robert Durst Jr.

Robert, 62, of Derwood, MD, passed away after a challenging journey with cancer at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Springs, MD on March 6, 2024.

Robert was born in Waterloo, Iowa in 1961 to Robert Sr. and Loretta Durst.He is survived by his wife, Helga, children, Robert III (Christina), Spencer (Amanda), Andy (Miki), Jacqueline (Luis), David and Kelly, along with his mother, Loretta, and his brother, Rodney (Tammy). He will be missed by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Robert was a loving husband and father who will be severely missed by his wife and children. His wife will carry on the strength and confidence he helped her find within herself throughout their time together and always putting love and understanding at the forefront of their marriage. She has fond memories of Robert’s love of mariachi music and dancing. He will be remembered by his children for his enjoyment of the outdoors and joining them in their goofball antics. Robert adored his children and spending time teaching them how to enjoy the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. Robert was also an avid tinkerer, like his father, enjoyed his projects and had the ability to repair or create with little to nothing.

The services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 20020 Montgomery Village Ave, Montgomery Village, MD 20886. Viewing is to be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 between 4pm-8pm. The funeral service to honor and celebrate Robert’s life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM
