

Bob was born in Wilkes-Bare Pennsylvania where he spent his early childhood with his parents Charles and Rose Steinhauer and older brothers Dale and Richard. He loved to play baseball growing up, in a league that his father founded. He moved with his family to Montgomery County Maryland where he later met and married his high school sweetheart. In Maryland, Bob devoted his life to his wife and three children. Bob worked as a meat cutter at Giant Food where he retired after more than 30 years, to Milford Delaware with his wife.
Bob was known to be very crafty with his hands, much of the furniture in his home was custom built by him. He was also a master handyman who could fix anything! He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, bowling and was always up for a game of pool, which he almost always won. Bob was known for his friendliness and his kind demeanor, and he loved meeting new people.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Karen Steinhauer. He was survived by his brother Dale Steinhauer and three children, Robert (Teresa) Steinhauer, Jr, Kim (Tracey) Reed and Christopher (Adrienne) Steinhauer, as well as his adored grandchildren Blake (Jennifer), Chase and Kyle, and great granddaughter Aubrey.
The family will hold a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his memory to The Alzheimer’s Association.
