Robert was born in Chicago, IL to the late James and Apollonia Strange. He was predeceased by his siblings, Ruth, Roland, and Roberta, and is survived by his sister Rochelle Watson.
Bob was a U.S. Army Green Beret veteran originally stationed at Fort Bragg and served during the Korean Conflict. After his term in the military he became a Washington, DC motorcycle police officer until an injury sustained while on duty ended his career. After retirement, Bob and Peggy traveled the contiguous United States on the back of a motorcycle creating more memories and more stories to share. Looking for a bigger and safer mode of transportation, the adventurous couple discovered the world of RVing and fell in love with both the lifestyle and Myrtle Beach, SC.
