Sandra Roaden Lowery

Sandra Roaden LowerySandy Lowery of Nashville, TN, a devoted mother and wife, passed away peacefully at the age of seventy in her Bethesda, MD home on Tuesday, May 19th, 2020. Sandy was the proud mother of her two children and also "mom" to everyone she knew.Sandy was born in 1949 and grew up in White House, Tennessee. In 1967, she went to college to study teaching at Middle Tennessee State University and went on to become an elementary school teacher. In 1978 she married and had two children. During her life she lived in many cities, always welcoming her family home for Christmas, her favorite holiday. In 2010 she married the love of her life, Jerry Lowery, and grew her family to include his two children and grandchild. She enjoyed traveling and reading. Later in life she became a devoted Catholic and active member of her church, Saint Ann's.Sandy was survived by her loving husband Jerry, daughter Camille (Alex) Espinoza, son Martin Smith, stepson Joe (Erin) Lowery, stepdaughter Catherine (Andres) Lowery, and sister Lisa (Chip) Skinner. She was predeceased by her parents Leonard Martin Roaden and Violet Crawford Roaden. A private funeral service was held on Saturday, May 23rd 2020 at Saint Ann's Church in Washington, DC. Interment at Rock Creek Cemetery, Washington, DC.
