Sherri Lee Simons

Sherri was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland. She graduated from Magruder High School before attending Frostburg State University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Business and Finance. She went on to build a successful career in the banking industry, where her dedication, professionalism, and strong work ethic led her to the position of Vice President.

Sherri was preceded in death by her father, Charles Randolph Simons, and is survived by her loving mother, Betty Carolyn Simons. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Carolyn Teressa "Terry" Brewer, and brother-in-law, Ricky Allan Brewer; her nephew, Ricky Brewer Jr.; her niece, Pamela Teressa Kerr, and her husband, Bryan Kerr; and their twin daughters, McKenzie Kerr and Madison Kerr. She treasured her family and the time they shared together.

The greatest love of Sherri's life was her faithful dog, Barney, whose companionship brought her endless comfort and joy. Barney was always by her side and held a very special place in her heart.

Sherri embraced life with enthusiasm and found happiness in the things she loved most. She enjoyed building LEGO® sets, playing classic Nintendo and Atari games, and participating in bike races. She was an avid sports fan who especially loved attending baseball and hockey games and cheering on the Washington Capitals. During football season, Sundays were devoted to watching her beloved Baltimore Ravens, often with Barney curled up beside her. She also delighted in watching reruns of I Love Lucy, a favorite tradition that never failed to make her smile.

Sherri will be remembered for her kind heart, quiet strength, gentle spirit, and wonderful sense of humor. She touched the lives of many through her warmth, loyalty, and genuine kindness. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sherri's life during a visitation at DeVol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, Maryland, on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with interment immediately following at Parklawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Rockville, Maryland.

In honoring Sherri's memory, those who knew and loved her are encouraged to remember the joy she found in family, faithful companionship, laughter, and cheering on the teams she loved. Her legacy of kindness and quiet determination will never be forgotten.
