

Shirley Dorothy Weisleder was born on August 16, 1924 to Arthur and Elsie Weisleder. She had one older brother Arthur. Her fondest childhood memory was of summers spent at their family seaside cottage.
Always the entertainer, Shirley was a dancer, spoon player and head drum majorette in high school. She became a dance instructor and made the junior Rockettes. However, World War II changed her plans of going to New York City.
When she was 16, she met her lifelong partner Richard Schroeder. She waited 4 years while Richard was in World War II and married him upon his return on February 2, 1946. They raised one daughter Diane in Plainfield New Jersey. Their loving marriage lasted over 70 years until Richard’s death.
Shirley continued to play the spoons and entertain people well into her 90’s. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards with her card club and Frank Sinatra music. She is survived by her daughter Diane Macioce and husband Jim; granddaughter Kristin Candy and husband Bob; grandson Brian Macioce and wife Kristen and five great grandsons - Dominick, Dillon, Christopher, Austin and Marcus.
