Stephen Wayne Furgeson, 69, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, passed away on June 10, 2017. Stephen was born in Paris, Illinois, and worked as an attorney for the U.S. Postal Service. He is a devoted member of Fourth Presbyterian Church in Bethesda, Maryland.
Beloved husband of 47 years of Jill Furgeson; cherished father of John Furgeson (Jennifer), Rachel Lazor (Greg), Mark Furgeson, and Rebekah Barnes (Robey); loving grandfather of John Allan Furgeson, Jr., Timothy Furgeson, Nathan Furgeson, Gabrielle Lazor, Joshua Lazor, Lydia Lazor, Jacob Lazor, Madison Furgeson, Kate Furgeson, Scarlett Barnes, and Nehemiah Barnes.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life gathering on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., as well as a memorial service on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Fourth Presbyterian Church, 5500 River Road, Bethesda, MD 20816. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stephen’s name to the church.
