Born on July 6, 1956, in Quebec, Canada, he was the beloved son of Robert and Dolores Dougherty.
Ted had a dedicated career with the federal government as an accountant before retiring. After retirement, he fulfilled a lifelong dream and moved to the mountains, a place where he found peace, beauty, and joy every day.
Ted was known for his honesty, humor, and huge heart. He lived life unapologetically. He loved sports and of course never missed his Saturday college football games. He was a true foodie, food was one of the many ways he brought family together.
Above all, Ted loved his family deeply. He was a devoted father, a cherished grandfather, and a very proud great-grandfather—recently welcoming his first great-grandson.
He is survived by his children and their spouses:
• Son Mike and Spouse Heidi
• Son Greg
• Daughter Julie and Spouse Matt
• Bonus daughter Evelyse
He was a proud grandfather to:
Raquel, Julius, Matthew Jr, Michael, Roman, Sasha, Azarel, Aniko, and great grandson Kyro. And preceded in death by his sister, Julianna “Jill” Ellen.
He is also survived by his former wife and lifelong best friend, Phyllis, who remained an important part of his life and continued to hold close to his heart.
Additionally, Ted leaves behind close family and friends who will forever treasure his memory. His legacy of love, family, and simple joys will live on in all who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later time where we will welcome all to honor and remember him.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time.
