Toula Betchavas-Candanedo

Toula was born on June 1st 1966 in Boon Germany, passed away peacefully in Clarksburg, Maryland on July 12, 2026.

Toula was a beloved wife of Nivardo (Nick) Candanedo a devoted mother of Alexis, Nicolas and Emmanuel and daughter of Eftizia Argyriou and sister of Panagiotis (Peter) Betchavas.

She dedicated many years working at Damascus High School in the Special Ed Division, where she loved and enjoyed teaching, assisting and guiding students with different needs.

She embraced anyone without any judgement, who would come to her for aid and counsel regardless of their background, orientation, language or creed.

In her spare time, she loved painting, drawing and loved gardening and shopping.

Toula was an excellent friend, a cherished open soul with a frank, loud and contagious laugh.

She will be missed by her family and friends and by many other people she touched with her kindness around the world.

God bless her soul and may rest in eternal peace.

A Funeral Service will be held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 7701 Bradley Blvd, Bethesda, MD 20817, US, on July 16, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
