I give praise to God for the passing unto glory of our beloved Grandma at the ripe age of 102 years. Grandma, I rejoice for the life you leaves as a dedicated woman of God. This we can see in your words of wisdom with a humble heart when we are worshiping together in the same church in Minnesota 
   When someone you love becomes memory, that memory becomes a treasure to those she left behind. I believe that heaven gained an Angel but yet we are praising God for you MAMA being a  wonderful WOMAN of FAITH.

The late Mama Victoria Lawoyin was a woman who silently left her mark in the sand of time. As an in-law, I have had the opportunity to know her very closely over the years particularly when we all lived in the same house in Lagos in the 60’s. Mama was very loving and unassuming, very quiet in her demeanor. But behind that curtain belied a heart of steel . She ran her own race and finished her course. May the Lord console all of us left behind in the family  IJMN

She peacefully transitioned to glory on July 19, 2026. She leaves behind a rich legacy and is lovingly survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many relatives and friends whose lives were touched by her love, wisdom, and quiet strength. Her memory will forever remain a blessing.

Deaconess Victoria Badejoko Lawoyin (née Ogunniyi) was born on June 5, 1924, in Aiyetoro, Yewa, Ogun State, Nigeria, to Towobola Anike Olaogun and Alade Ogunniyi. She received her education under the Baptist Mission at Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, where she completed her studies through Teacher Training College.

She dedicated her life to the noble profession of teaching, beginning her career at Reagan Memorial Baptist Primary School. For many years, she taught the Infant One class, where her patience, kindness, and natural gift for nurturing young minds endeared her to countless pupils and their families. Through hard work and in-service training, she rose to the position of Headmistress and was later posted to Kadara Primary School, where she faithfully served until her retirement in 1982.

A devoted Christian, Deaconess Lawoyin was among the second set of Deacons and Deaconesses of Yaba Baptist Church, Commercial Avenue, Yaba, Lagos. She was also one of the church’s foundation members when it began as a preaching station under the leadership of Deacon Adeniran. Following her relocation to the United States, she continued her faithful service as a Deaconess at UCM Minnesota. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she moved to Maryland, where she lived with her beloved daughter and son-in-law.

Beyond her professional and church life, she was a foundation member of the Women Workers Union and was deeply committed to humanitarian service. She was an active member of the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) and generously supported Christian missionary work. In her leisure time, she found joy in sewing and solving word puzzles.

Deaconess Victoria Badejoko Lawoyin will be fondly remembered for her unwavering faith, humble spirit, gentle disposition, and peaceful nature. She lived a life of service—serving God, her family, her church, her community, and generations of children whose lives she helped shape through education.

Wow!Grandma rere.I give God the glory for her life.Her name was a household name in my family before my parents passed on 9 years ago at six months interval.My mum was mentored by Mama Lawoyin as a new wife to a bachelor living at 11 Hughe's avenue,Ebute metta,Lagos.My mum loved her ways of life as a good Christian who took my dad like her Son.My mum do follow her to Yaba Baptist church women fellowship because she was a Baptist before marrying a salvation Army member.Though both of them died as Baptist members becauseAgbede Baptist church Ikorodu was very close to the house they relocated into.I thank God for Grandma s life.it also affected my life positively.May her beautiful soul rest in peace and may the lord uphold the family she has left behind. The Exit of a Great Woman

Iku d’oro, iku s’ika, o mu Iya Ladi lo.

She was a soft-spoken woman who did not have much, but always made sure that we, her children, were able to live in moderation alongside our peers.

Her life made me believe that wherever God intends to take you, it may take time, but you will surely get there. She was meant to come to the United States long before she eventually did. Despite all the obstacles and delays, God still brought her here, and she spent the last 26 years of her life here before she peacefully passed.

I thank God for her life because she was able to enjoy the last 26 years of her life, and God made her forget the painful past.

A Yoruba adage says, “Ki alẹ́ sàn ju òwúrọ̀ lọ” (“May the evening be better than the morning”). That was exactly how her life unfolded. To God Almighty be all the glory.

All praise and adoration be to our Almighty God.

May her soul rest peacefully in the bosom of her Creator.

Mama was amazingly wonderful in all aspects of life. She was an epitome of kindness, compassion, inspiration & love - so loving, tender, accomodating, generous & hospitable.
Mama was impeccably clean, neat and meticulous that things around her must be kept in appropriate places, clean & well arranged -- her idea of never walk past odds without putting them right - live with us till today.
Mama was overally pleasant & humanly compassionate. 
Great Mum is gone!!! --Hmmm. We'll forever miss her.  May your eternal rest in the bossom of the Almighty God, you fervently served, and the Lord's guidance over us all left behind be granted in Jesus' Mighty name. Amen.
