William Edward McGill

William Edward McGill, 94 of Kensington, Darnestown and most recently Frederick Maryland passed away peacefully on May 22, 2021. Bill was born January 31, 1927 in Washington DC, the oldest son of William and Margaret McGill. He grew up in Washington DC, and graduated high school from the Saint John's Military Academy. Returning from WW II, he graduated from the University of Maryland, married Doris Schauer, had three children and served a career in the Federal Government. Doris preceeded him in death in 1993.

Years later, he met and married Dorothy Downs, and was welcomed by Dorothy's siblings, children and eventually grand and great grandchildren.

Throughout, Bill was devoted to family and his Catholic faith. He enjoyed his long life, a win on the football field for the Fighting Irish and a cold beer.

Bill is survived by his wife Dorothy, his children Helen, Barbara and Edward, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and the extended Downs family.
