We deeply announce with sorrow that Yolanda Rose Nodine or as she called herself; “Yolanda Rose Philomena Siciliano Nodine the First”, left us to be with her Lord on March 11, 2026. Born on October 16, 1930, she was the 8th child of Giovanni and Michelina Siciliano. A native of Brooklyn, New York (former home of the Brooklyn Dodgers of whom she donated her tickets from their final baseball game in Brooklyn to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY) , Rose graduated high school from Central Needle Trades in NYC becoming a talented seamstress. She got “snow in her boots” walking to her various jobs in NY. She briefly was a novitiate for the former Society of Mary Our Mother. There she met “her girls” who considered Rose their second mom: Tina (Connie) Castelluzzo, Catherine Gambardella, Joanne Camposarcumo, Camille Anechiarico, Elvira DeSousa, Charlotte Halgreen, and Joann LoPorcaro. In 1959, she married Dr. John “Jack” Nodine who predeceased her in 2016. She is survived by a sister, Marie Bizzaro and two sisters-in-law: Judith Nodine and Jean Noe along with numerous nieces and nephews who will miss their Aunt Rosie. Remaining to cherish wonderful memories of their mother are her daughters: Mary (Bob) Harding, Yolanda Nodine, Jean Nodine, and Judy (Kevin) Ballenger. She leaves behind “Grandmommy’s” grandchildren which were her pride and joy: Joseph (Nicole) Ballenger, Samantha (Brandon) Paulson, Julie (Bryan) Brosnan, Robert (Lindsay Atkin) Harding, Dr. John (Sarah) Clore, Jennifer Ballenger, and Andrew Harding and his fiancé Krista Jessee. To continue her legacy are “GG’s” greatgrandchildren: Madelyn Brosnan, John Brosnan, Michael Brosnan, Henry Clore, Emma Ballenger, Jack Ballenger, Eliza Clore, and Evelyn Clore. She will be dearly missed by her surrogate granddaughter, Monique Walker and her daughters A’Nyla and Aaliyah Byrd.
A reciting of the Rosary will be conducted at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Rockville, MD at 9:30 am with Visitation from 10-11am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 11:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to where funds would assist a great grandniece with CDKL5:
