Yuen Chee Lee

Yuen Chee was born in Hoiping , Guangdong Province, China in 1948 to Wai To Li and Pik Yuk Li. She is survived by her 3 brothers, Albert, Benjamin, Edmund and their respective spouses,Cecilia, Agnes and Kathy; 2 nephews, Vincent and Stephen; 2 nieces, Priscilla and Angelica.

Yuen Chee moved to Hong Kong from Hoiping in 1953 with her parents. In 1973, she immigrated to the United States with her family. She lived in Washington DC from 1973 until she moved to Gaithersburg in 1987, then to Leisure World in 2013 and to the Village at Rockville in 2021 until her passing.

Yuen Chee finished her high school education from Kowloon Sam Yuk Secondary School in Hong Kong. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with distinction in 2003.

In the US, she started working for the Holladay Corporation in property management from 1973-2003 . She then took time off to complete her degree. After receiving her degree, she worked as a budget analyst for NIST until her retirement in 2014.

Yuen Chee had an optimistic outlook of life and was persistent to pursue her degree while she was sick all along. Everyone praised her for her persistence and achievement. She got outstanding ratings from her supervisors while working in NIST due to her meticulous personality. In addition to her own ailment, she also took care of our mother with her siblings.

Yuen Chee was sociable in nature. She had constant communications with her old school mates and friends from Hong Kong and former co-workers. She also attended the Chinese Bible Church of Maryland regularly to worship God.

Now Yuen Chee is resting in peace and has reunited with our mother in Heaven.
