

- SAVANNAH - Mrs. Billie Jo (“B. J.”) Abbott Wilson, 67, of Savannah, GA died on Sunday, November 14, 2010 of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS or “Lou Gehrig’s Disease”).
Mrs. Wilson was born in Summerville, SC on August 13, 1943. She was a Savannah resident for 64 years, attended Chatham County schools, graduated from Savannah High School in 1961, and attended Edmundson School of Business, Chattanooga, TN. She was a member of Chapel-in-the-Gardens Presbyterian Church, PCA, Garden City, GA.
She was predeceased in death by her parents, Joseph L. Abbott and Emily Josephine McCall Abbott.
Mrs. Wilson was a medical secretary with 28 years service in healthcare in the Savannah community, retiring first from Memorial Health University Medical Center as Medical Staff Services Coordinator, and also retiring from Neurology Specialists of Savannah, PC as personal secretary to Dr. Richard A. Bodziner. She was a member of the National Association of Medical Staff Coordinators, American Business Women’s Association - Rebel Chapter, and a past recipient of the American Business Women’s Association “Woman of the Year “award.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Donald Wilson of Savannah; son, Bart S. Wilson (Donna) of Guyton, GA and daughter, Janis L. Williams (Steve) of Social Circle, GA; grandchildren, Madison Wilson of Guyton, GA, and Parker, Christian and Macy Williams of Social Circle, GA; one brother, Rex M. Abbott (Elaine) of Waycross, GA; sister-in-law Brenda Faye Mitchell of Savannah and brother-in-law Larry Wilson (Caryn) of Savannah; special nieces and nephews, Sandy Mosely, Sara Goethe (Chris) of Savannah, Jonathon Abbott (Anita) of Waycross, GA, Anthony Abbott (Tammy) of Dacula, GA, and Paul Abbott (Kathy) of Hahira, GA; 4 great-nieces and 6 great-nephews.
B.J.’s family invites you to a Celebration of Life Service at 4:00PM, on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 in the chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home, 2794 West US Highway 80, Garden City, GA. Friends will be received immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be made to the Women-in-the-Church organization or the Organ Fund of Chapel-in-the-Gardens Presbyterian Church, PCA, 93 Main Street, Garden City, GA 31408.
